Well just so you all know, I've moved our family blog to another site. So if you want to link it to yours to keep in touch the one I will be blogging on is www.shawnjenandkids.blogspot.com So please feel free to see what we are up to there!

Today Emily had her 2 month checkup. I have to say that moms are really tough, but making you hold your child down while giving them 4 shots is a little too much to ask. It's like giving a child a small cute puppy and then asking them to hold it down while you chop it's head off. They really should have an extra nurse in there so that a parent never has to put their child through that.
On a brighter note, she is growing like a weed and gaining weight very quickly. She is now 11lbs,10oz & 23 3/4 inches long. She is learning so much every day. She getting to be a lot of fun. She is smiling and cooing and watching every thing you do.
Last night I took her in the baby class at church because she was being to loud to sit in our class. The baby class doesnt start till their a year old, but she paid attention to everything. She was talking more then I had ever heard her talk before and she acted like she really enjoyed it. She just sat in my lap in the corner, but she loved the songs and stories and stuff. Anyway, it was fun to watch her interact.
Here are a few pictures of her cute little smile.
This week we put Claire in her exersaucer for the first time. She loves it. She is probably not really big enough to be in it, but I was desperate for somewhere else to set her down besides her bouncy seat. She looks like a little pip squeak in it, but she seems to really like it. It is tea party themed, complete with teapot, cake and purse....totally girly!
We actually celebrated Mother's day all weekend. Friday Chris cooked a fabulous surf and turf dinnner for me that included filet mignon and lobster! It was delicious. Then on Saturday we had Chris's mother over for dinner. Chris cooked an asian themed dinner for her, including seared tuna and asian salad. Then on Sunday, Dad, Laura and Chris cooked lunch for Mom, Nanny, Teri, Farrah and me! This time we had pork chops, couscous and strawberry/feta salad. Needless to say, we have eaten our way through Mother's day this year.
Claire (with a little help from dad) was especially sweet and sent me a yummy edible bouquet, complete with chocolate covered strawberries and pineapple. She also gave me a jogging stroller that I know we will both enjoy!
So today marks a very exciting day! I am officially joining the world of blogging. I have fought it off as long as possible, but I have finally come to the realization that it is much easier to post like this than to email pictures out all the time. This blog has only become necessary because of the new addition into our life: Claire . She is a very popular girl and is always getting picture requests from friends and family. So hopefully this will help provide a way for us to keep everyone up to date on her.
I know that all parents think their own kids are cute, but she really is. I don't think I would know it if she wasn't.
She has really changed my life, but in a good way. It's trying at times, but she is 7 weeks old now and has started smiling and cooing. She is getting to be more interactive and fun.
As you can see she loves bath time with Daddy. It's really cute to watch. I've tried to give her a bath and she cried the whole time. I guess it's good that Joel has his thing with her that is just his. He's a great dad.
Today has been one of those days where it's cloudy outside and I have no energy. I think Ashton has all of it! He never stops. His favorite thing is jumping. He jumps off and over everything he possibly can:) Alayna has been asleep pretty much all day so far, only waking up to eat. I think she is going through a growth spurt or something. She is getting so big now. She just turned 5 months old a few days ago and is rolling all over the place and I really think she is going to be sitting up in a few weeks! That will be fun for her. I hosted a playdate with some ladies from church yesterday and that went really well. I think I'm going to try and do that more. Well guess that's it for now. Someone is playing instead of taking a nap...better go check it out;) Until later.....
